What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when I say Australia?
For me, it used to be spiders . Now? Excitement, warm weather, adventures AND spiders. But those spiders aren’t holding me back!
In 9 days I’ll be heading to Queenstown to board my first flight of 2017! 2 flights later and I will have reached my final first destination – Adelaide.
Australia will be the 16th country to check off my list, however it was not an easy decision to make. I wanted to go somewhere warmer. Bali? Not for 2 months. Fiji? Too expensive. Canada? Not yet! Australia? Too many poisonous creatures.
Then I remembered that I have this quote on my arm for a reason, and some creepy crawlies aren’t going to hold me back! So here I am, writing a packing list – trying to be organized.
This is my first adventure I haven’t strategically planned, and for me that’s a bit crazy. I’m a planner (except, usually, when it comes to packing) I like to know when and where I’m going. This time all I know is that I’m touring 5 Vineyards in the Barossa Valley. Making my way from Adelaide to Melbourne in a rental car. Then Melbourne to Cairns via Greyhound bus. The rest will be decided when the time comes.
I’m excited to learn. I’m excited to grow. I’m excited to leave my comfort zone. I’m excited to backpack Australia.
This is the start of something new.
